Good Reasons?

Good Reasons?

A Poem by Y.F.

I had another thought today

as I was wiping the tears away

I was thinking about a time I had no doubt

when everything was ok

I thought about flowing streams

as I pictured them in my dreams

some paper boats, with my best of notes

riding between the gleams

Why did I, have to die

before I could say goodbye

to all of these wonderful things

money could never buy?

Why did I, have to go

from everything I used to know?

All i needed was one good reason

not to do so.

Not to do so.

I'm hearing the children laugh

as I look at the photograph

a fraction of a man, who does the best he can

to look for his other half

I look at the hands I hold

and I notice that I am old

for so many years, or so it appears

my mind was just on withhold

Why did I, have to choose

the way in which I had lose

everything I could ever care for

to suffer from such abuse

Why did I, have to go

from everything I used to know?

All i needed was one good reason

not to do so.

Not to do so.
