Red QueenA Poem by Layla J OmoroseRED QUEEN Red Queen with the black heart Ruler Queen with a cold soul and iron
fist A wicked witch they call you, Behind your back, wagging tongues that
throw sharp daggers at your soul. Cut eyes made under bowed heads when in
your presence Frightened bunnies that cower under your
sharp whip tongue.
Laughed and ridiculed at for your uneven
proportions. Never as good as her Beautiful and perfect she haunted your
dreams. Feelings of inadequacy stoned an
otherwise soft heart. Loneliness and hate your best friends Spoke to you everyday behind palace
walls Sat alone in your study and learned the
king’s war plans. And when the time came Perfection overthrown… Your reign Supreme.
Red Queen with a sorrow filled breast. The whole kingdom feels your wrath, Meaner than your black jabberwocky Beheadings in abundance Still joy eludes your grasping claws. Not when Alice...with her blonde hair
and beauty came into your kingdom. She stole your dark knight, killed your
beloved pet… Banishment was what awaited you.
Red Queen deserted in the far sand. A hollowed heart that never knew joy. How could they blame you for your
detest? They drove you to this.
Red Queen with the forever black heart The over thrown ruler Queen with a
shattered soul and worn down fist. They cheered when the witch was dead. Your name was crossed off their list.
