My Soul's CryA Poem by Layla J OmoroseMy Soul's Cry is a silent wail... confined to a hollow jail.My Soul’s Cry
My
soul’s cry, Is
a silent wail, That
falls on the ears of deaf babies, It
is reflected, In
somber eyes, That
has seen the dark abyss of nothingness, Hope
lies, In
the fading image of what was, Love
chipped away, By
the iron mallet of what could have been, I’ve
tried to piece together the shattered realities of a future lost,
My
soul’s cry, Is
confided to the cells of a hollow jail, Where
tapered souls look for eternal peace, It
is twisted, In
the depths of drab gazes, With
the gloomy silhouette of uselessness, Hope
dies, In
the distorted portrait of what was, Love
withered away, By
the invisible winds of what could have been, I’ve
tried to untangle the realities of a future lost,
It
has been heard across the vast distance of troubled oceans, Echoing
through the fractured branches of decayed forest, Touching
the broken hearts of betrayed lovers,
My
soul’s cry, Is
a silent wail, Confined
to a hollow jail. That
has lost its hope for what was, It’s
love for what could have been, By
the murdering knife of a future lost, © 2014 Layla J Omorose |
