The CorridorsA Poem by Layla J OmoroseThe
Corridors
I walk the dark corridors of my mind, Lost in the thought of losing, Hallways constructed by deception and
confusion, Infinite doorways that lead to pain
and isolation. This is my world, my life…my destruction.
Desolation and chaos the keys to a world consumed by the
nightmare To the memory of the hands of death, The force that wrapped around my body, Cold and bleak,
all that lay before me. A wasteland,
painted red with hopes and dreams, Murdered for their joy
and promise. My laughter, my cheer…my foolishness.
I walk down the spiraling stairway of arctic emptiness, Towards the never ending abyss, A horror
that claimed the brightest part of my soul, Users and abusers,
they all reside here, There in the depths of nothingness, Where the mocking begins,
Where the lies are told, Hurt lives and breathes
in the narrow cracks, Crafted by dirty dealing
kisses, And a beguiling touch, There corridors are built for mass
consumption. This is my heart, my love…my loneliness.
My world structured by lurid faces, This is my world, my life,
my destruction, My laughter,
my cheer, my foolishness, This is my heart, my love…my
loneliness. © 2012 Layla J OmoroseReviews
