Midnight Ride

Midnight Ride

A Poem by Alex Borst

Moon was high
Our hearts were too
Midnight fog turned to morning dew

Autumn wind that
Kissed your face
Brought the storm that took my place

And now you're changing
Changing all the words you say
And are you changing
how you feel about me or how you feel about you?

And now we're waiting
Waiting for the lights to change
Well we were young and full of pride
Before we ever went on that midnight ride

Dancing lights
On forest leaves
Wove a glowing tapestry

And in the stars
I found your eyes
Nebulas you'd tried to hide

And now you're changing
Changing all the words you say
And are you changing
how you feel about me or how you feel about you?

And now I'm chasing
Chasing down the words to say
And now I'm chasing
How I felt about you when we met that day

And now we're waiting
Waiting for the lights to change
Well we were young and full of pride
Before we ever went on that midnight ride
