Whether the Storm

Whether the Storm

A Poem by Alex Borst

Well I knew there would be moments like this
Where I'd find strength from the depths of the abyss
While the starlight captivates our eyes
Only the darkness gives the stars a place to shine

And those who fall
From the weight of it all
Wear the night sky upon their chests

Oh my dear
Don't worry as the clouds are drawing near
The winds of change will know you down
And pick you up again
And whatever fills your sails will make your name

Found a home on the side of the bay
'Til a hurricane washed it all away
When you see me floating by on my front door
Hope you know I've got room for one more

We'll get by
With the rising tide
But for now, let's enjoy the ride

Oh my dear
Don't worry as the clouds are drawing near
The winds of change will know you down
And pick you up again
And whatever fills your sails will make your name

As we set our course
We'll find our way onto some greener shores
Through fortunes lost and fortunes gained
May your heart always remain
Whether the storm is in the sky or at your door
