A Rose

A Rose

A Poem by Jqjohnson

A rose, A rose
What can be told that hasn't been said
Moist yet dangerous
Tempted by velvet skin of luxurious red

Inspiring thoughts for all of time
Protruding; standing through the cracks
Color of blood enthralls the mind
One true beauty the other lacks

A symbol of love
Yet a sign of mourning
To the rest you stand above
The temptress' gift; a forewarning

Rising blindness of Aphrodite
Call it a favor from Venus
So delicate and so mighty
Creation of a one true genius

A rose by any other name
Would it change the game
