Red Sea Kelp

Red Sea Kelp

A Poem by Red-Sea-Kelp

living near the sea is a constant inspiration
clouds blanketing the escarpment
decaying debris continuously
washing up on the shifting sands
that cover
uncover
cover
uncover
a complexity of rock formations
the toddler pool
and in the migration season
dead egrets
and the dried out roots of sea kelp
which one day
i painted red

Beautiful. To me this is actually very reminiscent of Bukowski in it's ending. Something about it that i can't pin reminds me of his writing. Perhaps the abruptness in the last line. Either way, this is great! I really did enjoy it.
