Cycle to LifeA Poem by JourneyBluI tuck my love in my wings My wings I wrap around my heart My heart; it bleeds, it beats Beats against the walls of my chest My chest is becoming unbearably tight Tight spaces; I cram myself into them to hide To hide from the loneliness that corrodes my mind My mind is a chaotic machine that jumbles my thoughts My thoughts I find racing and spinning and causing confusion Confusion overwhelms me as I try to find my space Space; that vast darkness with which my life is inextricably intertwined Intertwined; my love and pain Pain follows me through shadows and light Light exposes my wounds and finally they can begin healing Healing songs I sing to myself in hushed whispers Whispers caress my ears, brought in by gentle breezes Breezes remind me that I have wings and it is time to fly Fly into the arms of a lover who will keep me always Always I tuck my love in my wings, for it will keep me alive Alive; I am full of life © 2012 JourneyBluReviews
