Bedtime Lullaby

Bedtime Lullaby

A Poem by Elyon

Tell me a story of a land so long ago
Where kings & queens once lived a life so different from our own.
Where their were dragons with damsels in distress
The noble code of knights followed by the best

Could I be seeing a life within my own mind
Where dreams are reality wrapped up in time
Where fairy tales are my imaginations glory
This is my bedtime story

Tell me again of the story theif who met a princess in a market place abd followed their hearts feet
Or the story of the boy & the giant peach?
Could I make my own before I drift to sleep?
What about the lion cub who just wanted to be king
I heard about the boy whose nose grew long and was pulled by a string

Is this a dream or am I asking my heart to speak
Am I watching my destiny unfold with a dance between Beauty & the Beast
Or is this a paradise I don't want to leave?
I'm in my fairy tale thats becoming me

Thinking back to those stories so long ago
Now telling those stories to my very own
And I smile because of wonders they have shown
The happiness they brought my mind to a place that I call home
But now I am a silent as the night steadily creeps
I close my eyes and say goodnight & finally drift to sleep
