A Case of You

A Case of You

A Poem by Solidad

We stood miles apart,
as you stole kisses from the crook of my neck.

Folded in butter-cream sheets,
the espresso of your intent nestled between my loins.

I was embarrassed;
by the emaciation of my feelings for you.

Ions danced between fingertips,
waltzing tactile memories within micrometers of one another.

Yet I still breathed in the moment
through kaleidoscope eyes.

Your admonishment of affection
drilled holes into my ribs; anchoring in my marrow.

There is reverence where I should loath,
as I pick out the stitch work of you.

Even after my cinder block soul
earned it's purple heart.

I wanted to play your savior,
and I could as long as I bartered a piece of myself.

Where you could spread seed,
and harvest children from my womb.
