Dandelions

Dandelions

A Poem by Solidad

You called from a place of solidarity,
smug in your comfort.

How easy was it to assume,
I'd answer your beckoning?

Your love held together,
with debit cards and bank accounts.

Quick to forget who was around,
when the money wasn't.

 Your friends disperse,
like blown dandelions.

None there to answer,
no savior to call.

How unfair the fight,
Yet I still made you leave a message.
