Endurance

Endurance

A Poem by Solidad

I stood

at the shoreline
Languid in stance
Statuesque
in my stoic indifference

I stood

at the foot of our bed
Where bottled guilt
Is sold
to the gullible

I stood

Back and watched willingly
As apologies soaked
Into my clothes
Like pneumonia rain

Emaciated
From unrequited love
Holding steadfast
Where my is heart bruised

I stood.

Bottled quilt sold to the gullable. Yes and yes so true as people try to make others feel quilty over nothing and some accept it like everything that is wrong is only their fault. After awhile apologies mean nothing if they are not meant and from the heart. This poem is full of images that paint a true picture of life. Nice write.
