Brittle

Brittle

A Poem by Solidad

There has been glitches in our love life
an awkwardness
like a paused breath
between hiccups
gasping for air
as the sand fills our lungs
empty gazes embody the dead space
touching the scales of affection
she holds steadfast
knowing you'd grab a hold of anything
that appeared sturdy
Emerald pools line your retinas
she inhales all that you retain
eroding away at the pericardium
creating a single file line
in the artery that shoots
directly from your secret place
siphoning out the precious moments
causing you to brush elbow with the faint
Of heart.

Made me weak in the knees.
