Junkie

Junkie

A Poem by Solidad
"

Fragmented thoughts of a junkie.

"

I’m distant because I can be

That night I went to sleep and never thought about you again…

Bags of ocean fill my thoughts and I lean to the left

To empty my ears

I tried again

And

Again

To see straight through the message

On the billboard to the right of 17th St

If there is such a thing that runs parallel

Through that vein

An extension of myself

I felt the cool air

Exhaled

Laughed

Cried

Threw up

Sang myself a lullaby

Closed my eyes and fell asleep...
Forever seems to have lost its luster
