Someone Who Knows Better

Someone Who Knows Better

A Poem by Solidad
"

Hindsight is 20/20

"
"Dearest Mistake,
I can't forgive it. One things for sure. She's not worth your time and heart..."

The things that play through our minds.
Dancing like sugar plums in our sleep.
The idea of being forgotten strikes more then just a nerve.
Be it the last good one we've got
or not.

There is no easy way to accept being erased.
Always trying to leave behind a footprint
Hoping something as simple as a song
could lead someone to suffer just as much,
If not more.

We all at one point have
walked hand in hand with Jealousy.
Colored in painfully by her half sister,
Envy.

Smiling in public
it more then burns your veins
seeing that spark happen
with someone other then you.

Seeming like you never mattered
"Damn, I should of seen this coming."
But you didn't.
Now there's really is no
point.

Holding onto matters that have become more or less subjective.
Never the less
we feel as though the time shared wasn't enough.
Because we weren't the ones walking away

Needing to feel a sense of justification,
To make things right and avenge our murdered emotions.
"I'll never love like that again..."
If you only knew.

Things like this don't last forever.
It takes too much time and energy
to stay so enraged
We just always seem to lose our footing
Getting lost in the syntax of our bravery.

Signed,
