Hartless

Hartless

A Poem by Solidad
"

This is about a Friday night.

"

And I woke up confused
about certain answers that were given.

And I felt lied to
about certain women you ascertained.

Running my fingers over the stitching
of your secrets

lining the inside of my h[e]art.

This whole f*****g relationship

is a pun

or a joke

on me.

I'm not sure If I believe
in you or your false idols.

And yet here we are again
as I'm treading water in doubt,

while you stand poised
on a reed boat asking me for trust

Instead of my hand.

Thank you for the review. I sure hope so :)
Why is it that we oft times cling to the ones who deceive us, even when we know deep down we are being deceived? I like the flow of this piece and the ending leaves me wondering what's hiding in the reeds. Good job!
