The Destruction of Obsession fueled by Love

The Destruction of Obsession fueled by Love

A Poem by FANTASYKNIGHT
"

Abstract/creative writing, it's not exactly a poem, more descriptive writing... an attempt to resurrect my being, restore happyness, a plead for forgiveness, a search for hope. The short story of a boy, and a girl, a devine friendship shattered by love, s

"

(eternally)

A mind filled with endless thoughts, a mind enraged by obsession, a mind entangled with questions, a heart consumed with hurt, overwhelmed with sensation, actions controlled by Love. It all comes down to her, the one thing in the world, which was everything to him.

(present)

“I Love you, more than a friend,” he said, watching helplessly as her face is consumed with shock, and colour fades away, her beautiful smile and mesmerising eyes, now pale. The laugh that drained every sound with a magical melody, her laugh is now drowned in pool of confusion and thought.
He sits, staring into her perfect eyes, waiting in horror, for her crucial reply. Confronted by a deadly silence, a silence that will ring in his mind and thoughts till the day she says it, till the day his dreams come true, or evenly, are shattered.
(past)

“Good bye honey, love you,” she said, as he puts the phone down. He smiles, a smile inspired by emotions he hasn’t felt before, and a ripple of warmth trickles through him.
“What would I do without her,” he asks himself again, a pointless question, for there is no answer, it is a mystery, where risk is the only key to unfold it, a risk where everything is at stake. A risk which he hasn’t been willing to take for the past five months.
Of all his fears, the most overwhelming is the thought of losing her, he is weak, a nimble being hanging on the string of destiny, a string supported by its last strand, about to break.

He knows he has to tell her, he knows he’s going to do it some time, sooner or later, but hoping for later. But for now, life still goes on, two friends, best friends, share a love bound by friendship, the most precious love he has found yet. Cherishing every moment of it, for he can feel it draining away, drop by drop, this friendship love is seeping through the hole in his heart. A hole he has tried to fill so many times, but only breaking it down. A hole growing with pain, enlarging with every sacrifice, a hole that keeps on growing, in the hope that it would be filled, one day, and all would be worth it.

(past, present and forever)

The string broke, I fell, and here I am, not knowing what to do, enraged by guilt over what I did. Consumed with wonder. My mind is overwhelmed, I am sorry. An endless continuum of apologies fills my thoughts as I drown. I am Sorry.
I Love You.
I cannot lose you, I will do anything to stay your friend, to be by your side, but the string broke, I had to tell you, I could not live this perfect lie any further.

FANTASYKNIGHT
it's a desperate short story i wrote in the hope of healing a friendship i detroyed, a friendship lost, someone who was everything to me. it's not meant to be perfect, it's just meant to send the message, tell me if you feel something, it's meant to touch...

wow....ja, definitely felt something...um, where to start..
i love the difference in time and how well you describe it...and your feelings are so tangible, it's pretty amazing..
it's quite scary how easy it is to lose a friend through something like this..and i think you captured it really accurately...
I love the end, how you describe the feelings and the last line perfectly sums up the feelings of the whole piece.
loved it :)

Omg!!!! It's so funny how I can easily relate to this. You know so many times I find myself having like a guy bestfriend and I end up falling for him. The feelings continue to grow until the day I am faced with having to tell him that I like him more than a friend. And then, I end up loosing one of my best friends due to a word called love.
