She never knew what hit her

No sign or warning shot

He crept up on her quietly

And now he's tugging on her heart.

Never in her wildest dreams did she think it would hurt to part.

For she had built her walls so firmly and had sworn that none would pass.

She told herself that young or old men's hearts she did not grasp.

But something in hims different , in him she sees a chance to have a life that's happy and days filled with love and laughs.

To have him smile at her each morning and to have him kiss her through each night is worth the risk she's taking in opening up her heart.

She feels it when he's near her and when he rests his gaze upon her broken body parts or traces kisses on her pain.

His calmness and his kindness call her lonesome spirit close, his eyes that see her truly flicker bright at the sameness of their souls.

So while she never saw it coming and has no clue how of how it ends , she'll knock her wall a little and see if love will filter in

You've really caught how regardless of your intentions love can creep in and catch you unawares. There's never any guarantee it's going to work but what's the alternative. Go for it - better to have loved and lost...,......
