Modern Love

Modern Love

A Poem by Jolene
"

A train of thought that it's just about impossible to find real love in this disposable age.

"
Ineey ,Meeny, Miney Moe, you're done,
Pack your bags, your time has come.
A childhood game once gave you thrills, but  the game has changed now the words bring  chills.
Insta loving,Face to Face, Tweet about staying loyal just to Snap it all away,
Choices on rotation,DMs on the low,Fishers for the Swipers Right that just go with the flow.
All lined up and put in order
A Like for one ,a Wink for another.
The we're just friends but "just in case" cover,
To the one that will play wherever ,whenever.
The one that you know that's always awake
The ones that you know can't tell that you're just being fake.
When it starts you believe you're at the top of the list,
Very least the top 10 of the want to meet hits.
But as each day goes on you soon realise ,your place has slide down till you're out of the charts, stored away or removed from their Wishlist cart.
What hope does love have in this world filled with so many others????
Insta loving ,Face to Face, Tweet about staying loyal just to Snap it all away, Choices on rotation,DMs on the low, Fishers for the Swipers Right that just go with the flow.
Like hamsters we run round  on this wheel of choice after choice and never feel something real.
Love is now rented on a day to day basis and only survives if you have enough Data.
We need to return to the game of days gone , where the rules were easy and the playing was fun.
Loves rules were simply like that of a buying a dress....pick one you like then forget all the rest!!
