Gaia's story

Gaia's story

A Poem by Jolene

The Nothing was there, it's what started it all. It sat there it seems till it felt time to yawn, and out of this yawn Chaos erupted filling the void with the World and its wonders. Out of this Chaos came two main things, Gaia was first let’s call her the Mother, then out snuck Eros the first God of Love, we know him as cupid, he carries a bow. Yet God or not he did very little, the work at the start was all down to Mother, she birthed the Earth all by herself then followed with mountains and water that trickles. So while Cupid is kicking back sharpening his arrows Gaia is setting the scene to get her some loving , but Cupid was vain all consumed with self love, no interest in Gaia or her plan did he have. So what else could she do but birth her a lover. Uranus was born to marry his Mother. Together they ruled the world that they made, built without Cupid or the Love he embodies how could this couple survive all their worries? Well let me just tell you a shitstorm ensued because from them they birthed the Titans their doom. The lust and the greed that created these giants would be their undoing, Gaia and Uranus were destined to part. The point to this tale? Don’t marry your Mother at least if you do make sure you love her.
