The Dark Side of the Rainbow

 

The rain falls,

Caressing the earth

With it’s gentle touch.

Across the clouds,

The rainbow falls,

Colours splashed across the sky.

But what lies beyond the rainbow?

What lies behind its beauty?

Is there a darker side;

A side that is hardly ever seen?

Is there sadness on the other side;

Is there pain beyond the colour;

Agony behind the rain?

What lies on the other side of a rainbow?

I wonder if it’s the same

As the darkness

Suddenly consuming my heart…
