“You Can’t Always Get What You Want”

 

As kids we’re taught

That you can’t always

Get what you want.

But that doesn’t mean

That you shouldn’t work hard

To achieve the goals you’ve set out.

Yes, there will be times of failure;

There will be times of despair;

There will be times of sadness

But eventually you will get there!

Now as teenagers we realise

That what our parents said was true –

You can’t always get what you want,

But that still doesn’t stop us from trying,

Because we just might find

That we can get what we need.

And then as adults we find out

That although we believed their words,

They are not always right.

Because if you fight enough;

Work hard enough;

Die enough;

You can actually achieve

Every goal you’ve ever set out…
