A Safer Place

As I lie here on my bed,
I watch the shadows creeping up my walls
And I wonder...

I wonder where my mind is at.

The shadows creep closer.
I pull my blankets up under my chin
To protect myself...

Protect myself from what?

My eyes close
And I drift off to sleep
Looking for a safer place...

A place where I can find my true love.
