Lie to Me

Lie to Me

A Poem by Kitty

You say you no longer love me,

But I see the truth in your eyes -

You will always love me

Until the day you die.

You say you no longer want to hold me,

But you still remember my embrace.

Your arms long to be around me;

Your fingers tracing down my face.

Lie to me,

You do it so well.

Lie to me,

I promise I won’t tell.

You say you no longer want to kiss me,

But you still taste me on your lips.

You’re longing to kiss me,

I can see through your fibs.

You say you no longer want to be with me,

But you refuse to walk away.

You still want to be with me,

Even if just for one more day.

Lie to me,

You do it so well.

Lie to me,

I promise I won’t tell.

Lie to me,

But don’t break my heart.

Lie to me,

Tell me today we part.

Lie to me,

Forever more.

Lie to me,

Come in and close the door.

You so powerfully capture the complex life of a relationship (wanting/not wanting; loving/despising; clinging/letting go)... How I wish life were more simple, but too often the world you describe here is the world in which we must find a way to thrive... Incredible contrast...

Finding peace has always been a struggle for me. But if there is one thing I can wish for the world, it's peace, love, more tolerence, faith, hope and trust. I hope you find it somewhere out there.... more..
