Box of the Forgotten (Story of a Teddy Bear)

Box of the Forgotten (Story of a Teddy Bear)

A Poem by Kitty

I was once young.

You used to love me

And hug me,

Make sure I had my bath

And that I was snuggly tucked into bed.

But as the years passed

I became old,

Forgotten,

Tattered and tainted,

Dragged through the mud.

And now I lay here

In the dark

With the others you’ve forgotten.

I might have lost an eye,

But I can still see –

You think I am no longer of use –

You’ve found someone new.

But as the years pass

They will end up in this box too,

Tattered, torn, tainted, old and forgotten…

So bittersweet, the love of a child for their teddy...the love of one person for another... Without renewal that love fades like the fur on a little bear, grows tattered, dies... May we learn to love continually and not neglect the one our heart clings to... Such a wonderful write...

Finding peace has always been a struggle for me. But if there is one thing I can wish for the world, it's peace, love, more tolerence, faith, hope and trust. I hope you find it somewhere out there.... more..
