Southern Man Monologue

Southern Man Monologue

A Poem by JoshuaStribbell
"

This is a short monologue I wrote whilst speaking with a southern accent

"
They say you can't hold back a man with convictions, a man of principles. The way I see it you don't need to, he does that fine himself already. My father was a man of convictions and his father before that. Men of God, of faith. Men who would die in service to their country. Somewhere down the road I think we lost faith in God and our country.

Post - modernists: That's what they call us. Hell, I prefer the term renegade. Yeah, I'm a post modern renegade in the digital renaissance. I'm a votary of change, but just what that change may be I don't know. I'll tell you what, I'm going to live long enough to find out.

Used to be folks would live for something worth dying for. The way I see it, live. Live for something worth living for.
