"Nigeria's Jig a boos"

"Nigeria's Jig a boos"

A Poem by Nwaeze Joshua

For the defectors calls out the loyalist
Godfatherism calls out the traitors with clubs of spikes
Law makers goes to war with handshakes of brown envelopes, murderers of our peace
Democracy with knife stabs bleeds to death,

Corruption with a cute smile, great shape, great curves
Enticing speeches of greatness, yet unfulfilled promises
Media with cunning lips as a tool
The electorate skeptical for you hurt the womb of the nation deeply, you make lies seem like truth

But how do we fashion this future of ours?
Who can say how?
In our quest for a safe heaven we see
Fields of slain heroes, healing for the wounded soldier
