A walk with NatureA Poem by Nwaeze JoshuaMy love for nature especially the countryside...
As I walk down the aisle
I reminisce on our first date Your flowers a honey sweet smell Your waterfall an Atlantis blue, it surges down the mountains, Your mountain peaks in array like a row of choir singers. I could feel your ice cold air running through my spine, As the sun scorched our bodies to a crisp an aroma of barbecue hung on the air, you smelled nice Your flowers blooms, so succulent, I just knew we were meant for each other. Like a lioness guarding her cubs, I vow to watch, Wouldn't allow any to plough you, for houses Wouldn't allow anyone fell your trees for timber Wouldn't allow any litter you with filths I could swear I would do anything for you Not wanting any to spoil your decorum Not wanting no one, inject your fragrance with stale In the cool of dusk, we held hands, walked side by side Your surroundings was soothing to my soul, I felt peace in your arms Your jewel-blue streams covered my nakedness, an oasis for life in a shrinking world. The tree birds sang symphonies, squashing my worries So I made no hesitation, when asked "Would you take this bride? As yours to hold and to defend from this day forward In sickness and in health, for richer and for richer, to love and cherish, till death us do part..." Yes... © 2020 Nwaeze Joshua |
