"A Rural Bliss"

"A Rural Bliss"

A Poem by Nwaeze Joshua

I never knew what real joy meant,
Until these kids taught me…

Their smiles spread like red tint on ripening tomatoes
Their faces shone with hope like crystals

I could literally feel the pain, the despair surrounding
these ones, but these cuties seemed oblivious to these…

Their splendor was godlike
Their voices golden, like the gentle plucking of the strings
of a guitar, they sang as they played with each other…

These feelings were electrifying… But they were curious,
you see gadgets seemed strange to these ones
So was surprised when I was almost mobbed when I brought
out my MacBook to take a picture...

It would seem this age was frozen in time…
