I knew nothing.

I knew nothing.

A Story by Kroma

Once in time the child you where knew nothing, but pain is the best teacher.
It was dusk and the sun was tired.
The trees whistled so loud the crunch of your footsteps went quite as the clouds blew in.
The path you trusted that felt like home was just a clever rouse.
What a s**t feeling when your own steps betray you.

Imagined a world you did. Was it one you believed in?
Imagined a life where you were the hero, but a hero isn't supposed to feel like this.
Alone.

Imagine a thousand monstrosities that want your blood.
A thousand more that you thought were friends.
Imagine a time when you weren't lost in the woods.
It was such a stupid thought now that your feet are covered in mud.

Standing still wasn't  gonna find your home.
So you run. Your breath is gone, but God D****t you run.
Tears run down your face as you forget why you were in the woods in the first place.
The monsters feel so real now. More than when you had to imagine them.
Did you imagine a time when you weren't safe from your own false creations?
O how ironic.

You entered these acres of woods as a child.
You left with scars, scared of your own imagination.
There was no path out, but you ran long enough the masses of trees and shadows finally were behind you.
Lay down for a moment child.
Your shins bleed from thorns wrapping around your legs.
As the blood drys from the wounds you watch as the shadows dance in the woods.
They're watching you.

Once in time you were a child that knew nothing, but pain is the best teacher.
