Second Chance

Second Chance

A Poem by Josh Anderson
"

When you get another chance to prove yourself

"

My eyes were opened
I'm wide awake, not afraid
I've taken all the chances you dared to give
And somehow I've managed to live

My heart was bruised and scarred
Broken once, broken twice
Shattered a thousand times
But somehow I'm still alive

All the scars I've shown to you
My cross to bear, my poor excuse
I've got a second chance at life to thrive
And God knows I'm still alive
