A Dream in Worth Ten Thousand Words

A Dream in Worth Ten Thousand Words

A Poem by Josh Anderson

I've got a runaway dream
And the demons won't leave
They claw at what's not there
And no it's not fair
To live it again

The prophets preach
Listen children to what we teach
Hear our words and pray
That they won't take you away
For having a dream

You've got a message in scars
And a half cocked heart
It's ready to blow
And God only knows
Which of us are safe

The corrupt will lie
Nothing to see, everything's alright
We won't hold a gun to your head
Just another law instead
To keep you safe

How can they say
That the stars in my eyes will fade
A dream is worth ten thousand words
Nothing goes unheard
When the heart is set free
