In God We Trust

In God We Trust

A Poem by Josh Anderson

Where am I going
God you're all knowing
It's in you that I trust
As my body falls to dust

It's ashes to ashes, oh God let me burn
Let fire consume me it's what I deserve
Nothing will harm me, no fire no flame
It's in God that I trust, and I trust in your name

Nations pour hatred on top of the ashes
Igniting the flames as the system crashes
One nation of pillars falling to salt
It's God that we blame when it was all our fault

In your hands we commend our spirits
When nothing goes wrong You're the last one to hear it
It's in God that we trust
When it's convenient for us
