Lovesick Lullaby

Lovesick Lullaby

A Poem by Josh Anderson

I have the tendency
To let my heart rule my destiny
But it's just another steep and painful price
To sing along to this lovesick lullaby

I wear my heart upon my sleeve
But it keeps breaking constantly
Does that make me a fool or worse
Just add one more tear stained verse

How long have I been chasing her
Longer than I feel the pain is worth
I can't think up a good excuse
To keep putting my heart through this abuse

It's just the price I pay
When I let this game go on this way
I'm not some piece to play
But I let my heart be used anyway
