Mister Brightside

Mister Brightside

A Poem by Josh Anderson

What can I say about my life
How can I keep looking on the brightside
Of the darkness in my veins
The promise in my pains

Blast my dreams into eternity
My wishing star is killing me
Hopes and dreams seem to slip away
But I'm mister Brightside anyway

Take away my sense of reasoning
The scars I left must stop bleeding
Let the cards fall where they may
I'll still look on the brightside anyway

Angels can't fly with broken wings
A smile filled with sorrow doesn't mean a thing
Let the agony turn the page
But look on the brightside anyway
