Galaxies to Hide Me

Galaxies to Hide Me

A Poem by Josh Anderson

Am I coward because I was afraid to love
Afraid that it would hurt too much
Even light has to fade
Even heroes have to run away

Sometimes goodbye is the only way
When you find yourself too afraid
You fooled me once, you fooled me twice
You fooled the Jester one too many times

This smile has carried me far enough
God send the chariot to pick me up
Carry me to that Kingdom Come
God please I've had enough

Better days aren't far ahead
But I'd rather dream among the stars instead
Where masks are just patterns in the sky
Where there's nothing but galaxies to hide behind
