Land of Make Believe

Land of Make Believe

A Poem by Josh Anderson

In this life
Of misplaced insecurities
Wrong is right
Where can one find some purity

In this world
Of make believe
Justice is just a word
It's the land of do as you please

Take us for a ride
In the land of the free
Where poor men are sacrificed
On the alter of rich men's greed

Take the pain away
Or pretend that it's not real
Maybe if you keep up the charade
We'll forget how to heal

Very moving words. You eloquently elucidate the sense of pointless sacrifice and suffering of our modern society.
