Take a Bow

Take a Bow

A Poem by Josh Anderson
"

Actors always know how to play their part.

"
Broken against an alter I cannot reach
While I lie deaf to the sermon they're trying to preach
Alone an angel in the land of sheep
A lone man of sorrows, God have mercy on me

Lay my head down on this bed of roses
The thorns prick my side, but I'm too numb to notice
Is time standing still, my eternity frozen
Times standing still, the hour glass broken

God can you see me, are you looking right now
Can you see this actor taking a bow
A performer worthy of a thorny crown
Now hang me up just to cut me down
