Pride

Pride

A Poem by Josh Anderson
"

Some people are oblivious to their own pride

"
Going through this life is hard enough
But you still try to burn me alive inside
I'll raise your hand, and call your bluff
But I can't take away your pride

In this life we are made up of broken parts
But you still try to tear me down
A life filled with broken hearts
But you can't seem to hear their sound

I'm not your pawn in this life
Yet you play your games with me
A smile doesn't mean that I'm alright
It just means there's pain that you cannot see

It's all a game to you, you're just too proud
As you take everything from me
You're oblivious as I drown
In the wake of your catastrophe
