PrideA Poem by Josh AndersonSome people are oblivious to their own pride
Going through this life is hard enough
But you still try to burn me alive inside I'll raise your hand, and call your bluff But I can't take away your pride In this life we are made up of broken parts But you still try to tear me down A life filled with broken hearts But you can't seem to hear their sound I'm not your pawn in this life Yet you play your games with me A smile doesn't mean that I'm alright It just means there's pain that you cannot see It's all a game to you, you're just too proud As you take everything from me You're oblivious as I drown In the wake of your catastrophe © 2014 Josh Anderson |
