Answers Hidden Before our EyesA Poem by Josh AndersonThis poem I wrote while watching the news
And the people bowed and prayed
But not to the God they should They worshiped the gods they made The ones of steel and wood Of neon lights and static songs Of television and carpet bombs Fools that stand in the halos glow But not from the angels of heaven Instead in the false truths they've one to know And chose to believe in Of liars speaking prophecies Of the spread of this disease Fools say I, you're fire bound But it's not my place to judge I walk among the crowds, don't make a sound And in silence choose to watch All the people clinging to their private cures All the people searching vainly for hidden answers © 2014 Josh Anderson |
