Don't Break

Don't Break

A Poem by Josh Anderson
"

I wrote this when I was going through a bout of depression, and it hit me that I'm not the only one who felt the way I did.

"
Do you ever feel like breaking down
Like the world is conspiring to make you hurt
Like everyone just wants to see you drown
To drag you through the dirt

Have you ever felt out of place
Alone in a crowded room
Ashamed to show your tear stained face
Afraid of another wound

Has anyone ever said you're beautiful
Just to see you smile
Life isn't made up of just the harsh and cruel
The pain only lasts for a little while

The thing I love most about this poem is how it goes from being a sad poem to something that can be positive. I think that many people would be able to relate to these situations, and sometimes people in these situations just need to be reminded that there are lights at the end of the tunnel, that this isn't necessarily how it's always going to be. Great poem!

Thank you so much!
The first part made me think of, "do you ever feel like a house of cards one blow from caving in?"
And the second made me think, "alone in this crowded room, it's like life on the moon."
I like the ending to this, it shines like a light at the end of a dark tunnel.
I akso like how this is worded.
Well played. ^^
