All at sea

All at sea

A Poem by Joe Palmer

A penny for your thoughts?
My mind shudders, contorts
Happy times distort
Never free, no inner sanctity
I'll want more for mine.

Something for your troubles?
Temper flared, blood bubbles
Tranquil to rubble,
All to ruin, what are you doing?
Yes, a large gin at lavish expense.

Het up and all at sea?
Mental turmoil, sheer apathy.
Because woe is me
Anchored down, a chronic drown
Sinking without trace.

Maybe a little wax poetic?
Undoubtedly, how pathetic
I'm not sick.
As the cracks appear, do not endear
As I'll keep it to myself.
