Father to Fathers

Father to Fathers

A Poem by DreadfulBride
"

last 2 lines was actually in a prayer I spoke some 20 years before this writing as I pulled away from the house in my semi tractor headed again for the west coast. This is a poetic recreation attempt

Father to Fathers

I could never hope
To contain the storms of emotion
After all these years
Even as the weather changes
I'd always loved you
Admired you
Walking eagerly in your shadow
Always wanted to be one
Because you were and perfect
Yet I remember
Wondering of the painful 'whys'
It has been many years hence
From aftermath of storms
Children there are now who hurt
As I did then
Now together, my fathers in heaven
Forgive me for I too am not perfect

This delivers and echo and chill. It shares a near reality in my mind as I look back to when I was out chasing the white lines with eighteen wheels.

Thanks for sharing your words. The poem is powerful and carries alot of thoughts with it, even if many of them are silent.

About
Beware the seductive muse. Whispered of half truths she imbues. My work, not all is dark at night. Not all is light in the morning. It is all about expression and sight. Get it right, less.. more..
