Haunt Oh Danu!

Haunt Oh Danu!

A Poem by DreadfulBride

Oh Danu! Oh Danu!
How my heart doth weep.
Beneath blood moon and tenebrous thread bare cloud
through darkling barrow, moor and fen,
Haunt oh Danu!

Oh Danu! Oh Danu!
Whither hast thy children gone?
Lost are they, the Tuatha Dé Danann
Beneath ancient grey stone and broken keep
Haunt oh Danu!

Oh Danu! ODanu!
Wherefore the Dagda, and the Trí Dé Dána
Hast all thy kin forsaken thee
Alone in despair and misery? Sleep
Within my weeping heart
Haunt oh Danu!

Author's Note

DreadfulBride
In Irish mythology, Danu/Dana is a hypothetical mother goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann, "The peoples of the goddess Danu"). Though primarily seen as an ancestral figure, some Victorian sources also associate her with the land.

About
Beware the seductive muse. Whispered of half truths she imbues. My work, not all is dark at night. Not all is light in the morning. It is all about expression and sight. Get it right, less.. more..
