My Inner Beast

My Inner Beast

A Poem by Joseph

I've locked the beast within my body

And I struggle to lock it in my prison.

I resume my daily life, and the beast wants out

To vent its rage and anger on those who wrong it

The prison that is my body struggles to hold tight

As the beast plans it's daring escape

I vent fury as the beast controls me

Consumes my soul for its love of destruction

I shout, I scream, I swear, I smash

The levels of hatred rise to satisfy my rage

The beast attempts to escape, but I lock it in

So the beast will remain imprisoned

My soul will not be infiltrated

By my inner beast
