In My Dreams

In My Dreams

A Poem by Joseph

In my sleep, I am a voyager

A great adventurer making amazing discoveries

Exploring new worlds and new possibilities

I am not myself, I am something else

A sorcerer, a celebrity, a warrior

Rich, famous, athletic, a husband

My subconscious tells a great story

Of a hero who saves the day

The darkness cannot infiltrate my subconscious.

My subconscious is my sanctuary, a place of peace

The reality is my inescapable nightmare

I dream where my desires are fulfilled

My dreams are the closest places to home

Visit my utopia to make my heart beat

Reality is a dystopia, too much pain

There are no pains in dreams, just eternal bliss

Are my dreams Heaven? Is my reality hell?

I will come to you, my subconscious

And spend many eternities in my homes from home
