The Spirit of Fire

The Spirit of Fire

A Poem by SilensIgnotus
"

This was partially inspired by the occasional ranting and raving within my mind, a dear friend of mine and inspiration that I drew from a popular video-game, Halo Wars. I'm terrible.

"
Searing across the broken night,
rode the Spirit of Fire.
With her wings of steel and eyes of glass,
she rose through tears and fire.

And ever upwards she did soar,

burning towards the heavens.

Battered by wind, and infectious things,
she saw them off with fire.

A time did come, when she was left alone,

without the means to return home.

Mournfully, she carried on,

in the hopes she might find someone.

Eternity passed and light did falter,

swallowed by consuming dark.

The sky did broil, and people burned,

turned to glass by fire.

When hope has passed, and courage is spent,

the men shall pluck their lyres.

A single light will return for us,

the lonely Spirit of Fire.

SilensIgnotus
This is the first piece of poetry I've written in a while, so some criticism would be nice. : )
