Life

Life

A Poem by Joe Mitchell
"

"

As I sit alone in silence inside these four walls

My heart cries out your name

Does your heart answer my calls

Feeling trapped for so many years

Pushing down all my tears

Knowing what must come next

A chance to be happy is not laid to rest

My heart is saddened on what I must do

But I must be true to myself and see it through

A brand new day dawns in my life

To find the one who will be my wife

Joe, this is so beautiful! I can feel the flow of tears, a physically hurt heart, and outcry of emotion. The one we experience from such pain as a true and deep love inflicts. The hunger for the embrace we reach out to, that is true to the inner depths of our being. I love it!

This is wonderful. The ending, splendid!! Simple yet so nice, leaves the reader with a nice smile. Although this poem is about longing and waiting, the ending makes it perfect.
