Sleepless Nights pt. 3

Sleepless Nights pt. 3

A Poem by José Humilde
"

Just had to vent...another poem about a woman that broke my heart. Enjoy.

"
I can't go to sleep when I'm feel this pain.
Memories stick to me like a shirt with stain.

After praying to the Lord for my soul to keep.
Memories keep me up when I'm ready sleep.

A voice almost haunting me, it's you I can hear.
When I try to close my eyes, out comes a tear.

Thinking of all the times that we luckily shared.
Thinking of times that you showed me you cared.

You conquered my heart which I defended.
But before I knew it, it suddenly ended.

Needless to say, you left me distraught.
It felt as if I'd been stabbed, burned, then shot.

What I don't understand is why you had to lie.
You could of just said "There's another guy."

It could have saved me from having my life shaken.
I can never forgive you for these years you have taken.

It's been a while since it happened; time just flew.
I never thought I would miss you as much as I do.
